The OtmetkaID© marking system is designed to work worldwide as a cloud service or as a locally installed service. As a result, OtmetkaID is fully operational without access to mobile internet during mechanized harvesting and manual chainsaw felling. The flexibility is incredible.
During manual chainsaw felling, our system makes use of an intelligent hand tool – Log Hammer – which includes a number of digital features that are connected via Bluetooth technology with data calipers and image management via a built-in camera. This creates a smart and workable system for collecting data that describes the characteristics of each marked log. OTMETKA has developed this system with an emphasis on professional functionality.
Future-proof with forest data standard
When felling using a harvester, data is stored automatically that describes the log’s characteristics linked to each unique OtmetkaID. This creates an unbroken chain of event information originating from the exact spot the tree grew. We build a picture of the tree characteristics around a recognized forest data standard – StanForD – which secures the value of the marking system in the future. We create characteristics data log by log in a blockchain solution where block number one is the same as the OtmetkaID.
Works as an internet bank
Since the data for each log is effectively linked in an encrypted transaction chain, very large datasets (big data) can be effectively calculated and compared to real forecasts without data loss. It is a great advantage to be able to utilize modern technology to analyze your forest holdings and the decisions made at harvesting, as well as to link valuable documentation to each individual log.
OtmetkaID is designed according to the same operational principles as an internet bank. Because traceability is guaranteed, through unique codes and the use of GNSS support (GPS, Glonass, Beidu and Gallileo), the system provides an effective means for each log to be included in modern certification systems that use blockchain technology. In this way, OTMETKA has created the conditions for a modern, reliable certification system on a global level.
